The story

What an unexpected surprise fairy Maple and Crispin the mouse found that afternoon! They couldn’t believe their eyes when they came across a shy little field mouse who, left homeless, found refuge in a dried pomegranate found in woods. The two friends advanced slowly so as not to scare him more than he already was, and kindly offered him half of a freshly opened pomegranate, since Fairy Maple was the fairy of autumn, and brought with her some juicy and bloody first fruits. Crispin the mouse was very hesitant, and wanted to hesitate a little before making new alliances. But after the first hesitations, they abandoned every sign of shyness and fear and charter amiably all afternoon in an envelopping ravin of a dense forest, until the sunset.

Fairy Maple is a very rich fairy sculpture. She is 17cm (6,6 inches) tall, she is entirelly made by hand in cold porcelain clay, as well the mice in the set. She has soft wool hair adorned with dried berries, Maple leaves and beads, fixed one by one. Her hat is handcrocheted with high quality wool, and enriched with true dried pomegranates, fabric and and 1:2 scale miniature pomegranates handmade in cold porcelain clay. Each maple leaf is handmade one by one. Her socks are made in fabric. Her skirt is in clay enriched by little clay mushrooms. Her wings are in flex resin and organza. Her eyes are handcarved and handpainted. The little basket of pumpkins, mushrooms and leaves is made in string and  fabric.
